Honda Zero Alpha Testing and Design

The Honda Zero Alpha concept was first showcased at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 in Tokyo. The test model, now seen under heavy camouflage, closely matches the concept’s silhouette. The Zero Alpha features a futuristic design with a smooth gloss-black front panel. A full-width LED light bar runs across the front, centered by an illuminated Honda logo. The headlights use dual LED pods integrated into the black panel. The bumper displays a layered look with gloss-black and body-colored sections, a wide lower grille, and horizontal air intakes on both sides.
From the side, the Zero Alpha stands out with a thick C-pillar that lacks a quarter glass section. The roofline slopes gently towards the rear, and blacked-out pillars create a floating roof effect. The front doors have flush-type handles, while the rear door handles are near the C-pillar. The SUV rides on five-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels. Gloss-black body cladding along the wheel arches adds a rugged appearance.
Rear Styling and Platform Details
The rear of the Zero Alpha features a vertical tailgate with a large gloss-black surface. The LED taillight forms a U-shaped outline around the rear windshield. The rear bumper has sharp, angular lines with contrasting black and blue elements.
Honda has not yet revealed powertrain details for the Zero Alpha. However, the SUV will use a dedicated electric vehicle platform and is expected to feature a front-wheel-drive setup. The production version will likely be priced around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
Market Position and Competition
The Honda Zero Alpha will compete with several electric SUVs in India. Key rivals include the VinFast VF6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti e Vitara, and the upcoming Toyota Ebella. Honda also showcased a more premium Zero eSUV, which will be imported as a completely built unit, and a Zero Saloon sedan as part of its electric vehicle series.

With its debut approaching, the 0 Alpha could mark Honda’s return to global leadership in the electric SUV segment.
