She stated that the name aligns with Renault’s tradition of using English words, similar to the Renault Duster. According to dos Santos, the Bridger name reflects strength, versatility, and a new chapter in Renault’s international expansion.

Design and Segment Positioning

The Bridger concept showcases a rugged, compact SUV with a boxy silhouette. Its tailgate-mounted spare wheel does not count toward the vehicle’s overall length, allowing the SUV to remain under four meters. This design places the Bridger in the sub-4m SUV segment, a popular category in India and other emerging markets.

Renault’s Bridger will compete with established models such as the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, and Skoda Kylaq. The Bridger concept offers a boot space of 400 liters, which is 10 liters more than the Kia Syros. The Syros currently holds the record for the largest boot in the compact SUV segment.
