The data encompasses buses, omnibuses, and "educational institution buses." Karnataka is the leader in the number of hybrid buses, with 84, and it also has 1,195 electric buses. There are 895 electric buses in Gujarat.
The data was collected from the Vahan 4 database, which encompasses all states and union territories with the exception of Lakshadweep and Telangana, and was provided before the Lok Sabha as a written response.
