Hyundai has confirmed the launch of the i20 N-Line model soon in India, with the launch timeline expected by September 2021. The first vehicle from the N-Line badged model in India will get a 1.0L petrol engine and multiple transmission systems.
Hyundai i20 N-Line – Variants
Hyundai has planned three variants of the i20 N-Line, N6 iMT, N8 iMT, and N8 DCT. While the N6 variant will be based on the Sportz version of the vehicle, the N8 trims will resemble the Asta and Asta (O) versions.
Hyundai i20 N-Line – Under the Hood
Reports suggest that the Hyundai i20 N-Line will get a 1.0L 3-cylinder Turbo-petrol engine under its hood. This 120hp engine will pair with multiple transmission options, the 6-speed iMT gearbox, and the 7-speed DCT transmission.
There might not be any change to the powertrain configuration from the presently available i20. However, one can expect a sportier exhaust and a new suspension setup. Experts feel that Hyundai has missed the opportunity of providing a manual transmission with the turbo-petrol engine, something that Hyundai lovers would have enjoyed.
Hyundai i20 N-Line – Upgrades
Generally, the N-Line models are sportier versions of the standard models. The i20 N-Line is no different as it gets several sporty embellishments to give it a classy look.
The front bumper gets an overhaul to accommodate deep-set fog lamp housing. The grille gets an upheaval with a chequered flag pattern. The rear bumper gets sportier with the inclusion of a prominent rear diffuser.
The vehicle gets additional front and side skirts, along with larger wheels and twin exhaust pipes. However, most of these elements will get a black coat as the vehicle will get exciting colour options.
The N-Line will feature the customary N badging and red stitching for the upholstery. In addition, the seats get a sporty makeover.
The bespoke steering wheel, N-branded leather gear knob, and metal pedals are the other interior highlights.
Hyundai i20 N-Line – Pricing
The N-Line vehicles typically cost more than the base model. The i20 N-Line will be approximately Rs 1 to 1.50 lakhs more expensive than the existing i20 top variant, Asta (O) Turbo-DCT variant. At this pricing, the Hyundai i20 N-Line does not have any competition in India.
