New Kia carnival, Sorento SUV Show up At India Plant - May debut At Car Exhibition Auto Expo 2023

Due to a host of new technology that the new Kia Carnival offers over the outgoing model, costs may increase by up to Rs. 2 lakh when it is introduced in India.

The offerings from Kia India are merely the tip of the iceberg in terms of the company's global range. The Forte sedan, Sportage SUV Rio sedan Sorento SUV, Sedona MPV (called Carnival in India), K5 sedan, Rio Hatchback, , Stinger sports sedan, Telluride SUV, Rio 5 crossover, Cerato sedan, and Niro crossover SUV are also part of Kia's international lineup in addition to the models marketed locally.

Kia appears interested in bringing two of these vehicles to Indian soil. They are Sedona and Sorento (new Kia Carnival). According to sources, the New Kia Carnival and Kia Sorento have arrived at the Kia facility in Andhra Pradesh after being imported into India. Both vehicles are anticipated to debut in India during the upcoming 2023 Auto Expo. New Carnival's introduction is long overdue, and it remains to be seen whether Kia will contemplate releasing Sorento in India.

New Kia Carnival Luxury MPV

The 5.1-meter-long, luxurious MPV from Kia, the Carnival, has automated sliding doors and plenty of interior room. It has one 2.2L diesel engine and one 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine had a power output of 197 bhp and a torque output of 440 Nm.

In this manner, Carnival may serve as both a people mover and a limo. India-spec Carnival is 3rd iteration of Kia’s MPV, and the fourth generation is sold as Sedona in some areas. Despite two years having gone since its global premiere in 2020, Kia has not updated its Carnival in India.The new design is noticeably sharper, loses its van-like appearance, and resembles an SUV. It looks far better than the Carnival made to India's specifications because it is considerably boxier and proportional. The 2017 Kia Carnival is expected to generate a lot of attention because to its improved exterior and interior design.

2023 SUV Kia Sorento

A mid-size SUV, the Kia Sorento has dimensions of 4,810mm in length, 1,900mm in width, 1,700mm in height, and a 2,815mm wheelbase.

In the big picture, Sorento is essentially a Hyundai Santa Fe when it comes to Kia's corporate cousin Hyundai. They both share the same platforms, drivetrains, and many other things.

Older Santa Fe models with seven seats used to be available in India, competing against the Fortuner and entry-level German luxury SUVs like the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and Audi Q3. Sonata was also cancelled because of its weak sales.If Kia introduces the Sorento in India, it will be up against vehicles like the Fortuner and similar mid-size SUVs. The Kia Sorento is available in Europe with a 1.6L turbo petrol and 2.2L diesel engine. Both a genuine plug-in hybrid powertrain and a self-charging mild hybrid technology are available for the 1.6L petrol engine. Prices for diesel models start at EUR 49,495 (about Rs 40.5 lakh), mild hybrid models start at EUR 50,995, and PHEV powertrains cost EUR 56,995.
