BMW Unveils Upgraded 2024 M2 with Enhanced Power and Performance

BMW’s M division has made significant improvements to the M2, enhancing its power and performance for the 2024 model. The upgraded M2 now features a more powerful version of BMW’s turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six engine, boosting its output by 20hp to a total of 480hp. Additionally, torque has increased by 50 Nm, bringing it to 600 Nm at 2,650-6,130rpm.

Acceleration Enhancements

0-100 kph

• Automatic (AT): 4.0 seconds
• Manual (MT): 4.2 seconds

0-200 kph

• Automatic (AT): 12.9 seconds
• Manual (MT): 13.7 seconds
• Top Speed: Limited to 250 kph, extendable to 285 kph with the optional M Driver’s package

BMW claims a 0.1-second improvement in the 0-100 kph time compared to previous models, with a more substantial 0.6-second improvement in the 0-200 kph times.

New Features and Styling

• Exterior Colors: Expanded range includes Sao Paulo Yellow, Fire Red, Portimao Blue, and Skyscraper Grey.
• Wheels: Standard 19-inch front and 20-inch rear M wheels with a double-spoke design in black, optional silver finish available.
• Interior: New flat-bottomed steering wheel with an optional Alcantara rim and updated digital operating system featuring the latest-generation iDrive system.

Production and Availability

The M2 will continue to be produced alongside standard 2 Series Coupe models at BMW’s factory in San Luis, Mexico.

BMW M2 in India

• Current Model: Launched in June last year, priced from Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom, India).
• Transmission Options: Automatic gearbox as standard, with the manual option costing about Rs 1 lakh more.
• Updated Model: No confirmation yet on when the upgraded 2024 BMW M2 will be available in India.
