TVS and BMW celebrate producing 200,000 motorcycles together. The milestone marks a decade of successful collaboration, delivering popular models and expanding their global presence in the sub-500cc segment.
TVS Motor and BMW Motorrad have achieved a major milestone of producing the 200,000th motorcycle under their strategic partnership since 2013. The milestone marks the stable rise of the Indo-German collaboration; what began as an alliance in 2013 has now become one of the most successful collaborations catering to customers globally in the sub-500cc motorcycle segment.
TVS’s Hosur facility manufactured the milestone unit, which signifies that the partnership has produced over two lakh motorcycles together. Along the way, the collaboration has delivered some notable models, which include the BMW G 310 R, G 310 GS, and G 310 RR; these models have been loved globally. Both companies have grown into complementary roles: TVS manages worldwide manufacturing, and BMW contributes with its cutting-edge engineering, which has helped both manufacturers reach a variety of customers.
Marking this milestone, the partners confirmed that production of the new BMW F 450 GS has officially begun at the Hosur plant. Automakers have launched a next-generation platform set to give rise to the upcoming model in near future.
For TVS, the project helped it to expand more deeper into the premium international segments for BMW Motorrad; it provides scale and adaptability for a fast-growing displacement class. The F 450 GS is positioned as a mid-capacity machine targeting riders shifting from smaller adventure bikes into the global market. With the updated platform and design, the bike will meet expectations of the riders who go for performance and thrill.
Both companies are prioritizing the development of upcoming models. Their shared strategy involves investing in fresh platforms, connected-vehicle technology, and more efficient powertrains. With TVS manufacturing in India pricing for the F 450 GS is likely to have a competitive pricing. While the exact figures are not released yet we can expect the price ranging from Rs.4 lakh - Rs. 4.50 lakh(ex-show). Once its launch the bike is going to directly lock horns with some of renowned names like- Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure.
