City-Based E-Vehicle Manufacturers Expect Orders Worth ₹700 Crore at Ride Asia Expo

City-based manufacturers of electric bicycle, scooter and rickshaws are ready for an anticipated order totaling around Rs 700 crore at RideAsia2024 Expo. The Expo is  Asia’s premier exhibition for the electric vehicle industry.

Set to take place in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from April 19 to April 21, this expo is poised to showcase the latest advancements in electric mobility and recreation, drawing industry leaders, enthusiasts, and curious visitors alike.

Charanjeet Singh Vishwakarma, owner of Vishwakarma industry, who is also the chairman of United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA), stated, “The Ludhiana bicycle industry had received orders worth Rs 300 crore from this exhibition last year and now we are expecting orders of around Rs 700 crore. Around 35,000 visitors are expected to attend the exhibition.”

Gurmeet Singh Kular, president of the Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organisation (Fico), said, “From compact electric vehicles to futuristic electric motorcycles, visitors will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the evolution of electric mobility. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, exhibitors will unveil their updated models equipped with cutting-edge technology, promising a glimpse into the future of urban transportation.”

Harsimerjit Singh, president of the UCPMA, said there will be an unparalleled selection of bicycles for all ages and preferences. “Whether you're a seasoned cyclist seeking the thrill of high-performance bikes or a leisure rider in search of comfort and style, the exhibition will feature the most updated and diverse range of bicycles on the market. From mountain bikes built for rugged terrains to sleek urban models designed for commuters of city streets, the exhibition will have it all,” he added.
