The Victoris is the second midsize SUV from Maruti Suzuki aimed squarely at the Hyundai Creta's crown
The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is a brand-new mid-size SUV in India. It competes with popular cars like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder and Maruti Grand Vitara. With its bold design, premium interiors and multiple engine options including petrol, hybrid and CNG, the Victoris aims to be one of the most practical and stylish SUVs in the market.

The Maruti Victoris design is modern and bold. There is a hint of the Brezza from the side profile and the front end hints at the e-Vitara we saw at the Auto Expo in 2025. At the front, it gets a wide grille, sharp LED headlamps and a sporty bumper which is heavily sculpted.
From the side, the stylish alloy wheels, roof rails and neat body lines make it look premium. The car looks longer than most rivals, maybe its a visual thing but the road presence from side on is massive. At the rear, connected LED tail lamps and a chunky bumper give it a trendy appeal. Overall, the Victoris SUV has strong road presence and should appeal to a wide section of buyers.

Step inside, and the Victoris interior immediately feels modern and upmarket. Some of the key highlights include.
The 10.25-inch infotainment screen is the highlight, offering wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You also get Dolby Atmos inside this car, a first for a Maruti Suzuki car.
A digital instrument cluster gives all driving info in a clear, colourful display.
The driver’s seat is height-adjustable and offers good visibility.
Premium touches like soft-touch dashboard materials, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, and a panoramic sunroof make it feel like a luxury SUV.
The 360-degree camera and front parking sensors add safety and convenience in tight city spaces.
This cabin is designed to feel comfortable and connected, whether you are in traffic or on a highway drive. That said, the quality of the cabin is a bit patchy and overall the Hyundai Creta offer a more premium feel as well as a certain feel good factor that is hard to miss.

Now coming to the rear seats – and this is very important for family buyers. The legroom and headroom are generous, so even taller passengers will be comfortable. Three people can sit here, but two will feel the most relaxed. You also get rear AC vents, USB charging ports and a foldable armrest with cupholders. The panoramic sunroof makes the cabin feel bright and airy, especially on long drives.
The boot is practical too – large enough to handle a family’s luggage for a weekend trip.
Maruti is offering the Victoris with three engine options. First, a 104bhp, 1.5-litre petrol that’s smooth and refined – perfect for daily city use. Second, a strong hybrid, which gives you excellent fuel efficiency – over 20 km per litre is expected – and the ability to drive short distances in traffic on electric power alone. And third, a CNG version for those who want really low running costs.
Now, if you’re looking for a sporty SUV, this is not it. But if you value smoothness, efficiency and reliability, the Victoris does a great job. The gearshifts on the manual we drove we very good and smooth, while the clutch action was decent as well. However, Maruti Suzuki should now think of offering an additional sixth gear to the line-up, since the current five speed unit makes the engine feel laboured once speeds go beyond 100kph.

The Victoris is tuned for comfort. The suspension absorbs potholes and speed breakers with ease, so passengers remain comfortable even on bad roads. The steering is light in the city, which makes it easy to park and take U-turns, and it becomes heavier at higher speeds, giving you confidence on highways.
At speeds above 100 km/h, the SUV feels stable and planted – which is very reassuring on long journeys.
Safety is another area where Maruti has improved. The Victoris gets up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-hold assist and traction control. You also get a 360-degree camera and parking sensors to make city driving safer. And the body structure has been strengthened for better crash protection. You also get the peace of mind knowing that this car has a crash test rating of 5-stars from G-NCAP.

So, what’s the final CarBike360 Says on the Maruti Suzuki Victoris?
Well, it’s a stylish SUV with a premium cabin, lots of features, plenty of space, multiple fuel options including hybrid and CNG, and the backing of Maruti’s massive service network. It may not be the sportiest SUV in the segment, but as a complete family car, it ticks almost every box.
If you’re looking for a family SUV under 20 lakhs, the Victoris is definitely worth considering. With Maruti’s reliability and resale value, this one could easily become another best-seller. How good is it against the Creta? We will do a full comparison soon and find out.
