Honda CBR500R is a sports bike that is expected to launch in India in the month of December 2022. The expected price range of the bike would be ₹ 4,45,000 to ₹ 5,09,999. Honda currently has a large portfolio in this segment with bikes like CBR650R. The competitors of this bike currently available in the market are Kawasaki Z650 & CFMoto 650GT. Another similar bike that is about to launch in June 2022 and will be a strong competitor of the Honda CB500R is the sporty Kawasaki Ninja 400.

At the EICMA event in Milan, Italy, Honda launched the 2013 Honda CBR500R and this bike will be an addition to the Honda’s 500cc trio which includes CB500X and CB500F. Truth be told this motorcycle is the fully-faired version of CB500F.

This sports bike is powered by the same engine that powers the 2013 Honda CB500F and 2013 Honda CB500X. The bike has a 500cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine. The bike also has a Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) feature. The engine comes mated with a 6-speed manual transmission which churns out 47bhp and 43Nm. The suspension is provided by a 41mm fork with 4.8 inches of travel at the front whereas the rear suspension is a Pro-Link single shock with nine-position spring preload adjustability.

The Honda’s new CBR500R is for someone who is looking for an entry-level motorcycle having moderate weight and the best part is this fully-faired bike looks very sporty. That being said, many sports bike have this aggressive-looking rider position but Honda has made sure CBR500R offers a moderate riding position that doesn’t look aggressive. This bike already has been released in UK and has been pretty successful in the market with a price tag of £4,950 (Rs 4.40 lakhs INR). We are expecting it to be brought down here in the domestic markets around the same price range if Honda plans to get the bike in India through the completely-knocked-down (CKD) route.
