TVS Apache RTR 200 Fi E100 is the country’s first ever and only ethanol-powered production motorcycle and is considered as a revolutionary bike. It comes at a price tag of Rs 1.2 lakh and is available only in select states of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. The E100's 198cc single-cylinder air and oil-cooled engine uses twin-spray twin-port electronic fuel-injection technology which makes its machinery unique and far more competitive than others in the segment which ensures that the vehicle produces up to 50 per cent of less Butadiene and Benzene gases. The vehicle gives the output of 21PS of power at 8500rpm and 18.1Nm of torque at 7000rpm, which is quite close to the standard fuel-injected variant. Transmission duties are managed by a 5-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. The underpinnings are very much similar to the petrol-powered RTR 200 4V. This means a traditional fork and monoshock, both tuned by KYB. The stopping power is generated from petal discs at both ends and single-channel ABS is standard for safety purpose. The feature list includes Halogen headlamp with LED position lamps and LED taillight, digital speedometer and tachometer for rider related information, engine kill switch, 17-inch alloy wheels, pillion seat, pillion grab rail and racing double-barrel exhaust to name a few. The TVS Apache RTR FI E100 ethanol is a very eco-friendly option than a regular petrol fuel one as the increasing population in the country calls for an immediate need for Biogas options.
