Key Milestones and Product Expansion
Over the past four years, Suzuki Motorcycle India has doubled its sales. This growth comes from a diverse product range that includes scooters, commuter motorcycles, and premium models. The company began its journey with models like the Heat 125 and Zeus 125. In 2007, Suzuki launched the Access 125, which became one of its most successful scooters.
Suzuki has since expanded its lineup to include models such as Burgman Street, Avenis, the Gixxer series, and V-Strom SX. Premium motorcycles like the Hayabusa and V-Strom 800 DE have also joined the portfolio. The Access 125 has played a key role in building Suzuki’s presence in the scooter segment, while Burgman Street has created a niche in the premium maxi-scooter category. The sporty Avenis appeals to younger buyers.
Recent updates include the launch of a new Access last year and a new Burgman Street a few weeks ago. In the motorcycle segment, the Gixxer range remains a major volume driver. Adventure models like the V-Strom SX have helped Suzuki reach new customer groups.
Nationwide Presence and Global Exports
Suzuki Motorcycle India now operates over 1,240 touchpoints across the country and works with 212 suppliers. The company’s ‘By Your Side’ philosophy emphasizes a customer-first approach. Exports continue to be important, with Made-in-India Suzuki two-wheelers now sold in 77 global markets. This has made India a key manufacturing hub for Suzuki’s global operations.
Future Plans and Sustainability Initiatives
Suzuki is preparing for future growth by focusing on electric mobility and alternative fuel technologies. The company has introduced the e-Access electric scooter and the flex-fuel compliant Gixxer SF 250 FFV (E85). To meet rising demand, Suzuki is setting up a new manufacturing facility at Kharkhoda. This plant will help expand production capacity.
Suzuki Motorcycle India is adopting a multi-pathway approach to carbon neutrality. The strategy combines internal combustion engines, electric vehicles, and flex-fuel technologies to meet market needs. This approach aims to ensure long-term sustainability while keeping products affordable and high-performing.
With 20 years of operations, 10 million units produced, and a growing product lineup, Suzuki Motorcycle India is positioned for its next phase of growth. The company is focusing on new technologies and expanding its manufacturing capabilities to support future demand.
