Suzuki has launched the updated 2026 Landy minivan in Japan, introducing new features and a revised powertrain lineup. The changes follow similar updates to the Toyota Noah and Voxy, which share the same platform. The Landy, previously based on the Nissan Serena, now continues its partnership with Toyota, focusing on practicality and efficiency.
Key Highlights
- 2026 Suzuki Landy now available only with a hybrid powertrain
- Eight-seat configuration introduced alongside existing seven-seat version
- Hybrid system delivers 138 PS and 23.2 km per litre fuel efficiency
- Front-wheel drive and E-Four all-wheel drive options offered
- Japanese pricing starts at JPY 3.84 million with annual sales target of 1200 units
Key Updates for 2026 Landy

The 2026 Landy maintains its upright minivan shape and large windows to improve cabin visibility. The front features a bold grille, slim daytime running lights, and redesigned bumper elements. The rear design remains simple, emphasizing space and utility. Buyers can select from three exterior paint colors.
A major update is the introduction of an eight-seat configuration, expanding the Landy's passenger capacity. The seven-seat version is still available. Inside, Suzuki has upgraded dashboard materials to enhance quality and added a larger instrument display. Unlike some Toyota Noah variants, the Landy does not include larger digital displays as standard, but optional infotainment accessories are offered.
Hybrid-Only Powertrain and Pricing
The most significant mechanical change is the shift to a hybrid-only lineup. Suzuki has discontinued the conventional petrol engine. The Landy now uses a self-charging hybrid system that pairs a 1.8-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor. This setup delivers about 138 PS and is matched with an e-CVT transmission. Suzuki reports a fuel efficiency of 23.2 km/l for the hybrid model.
Customers can choose between front-wheel drive and the E-Four all-wheel-drive system. The AWD version includes an extra electric motor for the rear wheels and offers a driving mode for snowy conditions. This move to hybrid-only mirrors changes in the Toyota Noah and Voxy, aligning with industry trends toward better fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
Market Position and Sales Target
In Japan, the updated Suzuki Landy starts at JPY 3.84 million for the front-wheel-drive model. The all-wheel-drive variant is priced from JPY 4.12 million. Suzuki aims to sell 1,200 units of the refreshed Landy each year.
The Landy competes in Japan’s midsize minivan segment against models like the Honda StepWGN and the Nissan Serena. It continues to share much of its engineering with Toyota’s Noah and Voxy, focusing on practicality and efficiency for family and group transport.

The 2026 Suzuki Landy strengthens its appeal in Japan’s MPV segment by combining hybrid efficiency with practical design and spacious seating. With its eight seat configuration, updated features, and focus on comfort, it stands out as a versatile family mover. This latest iteration reflects Suzuki’s commitment to delivering reliable, efficient, and user-friendly mobility solutions.
