Key Highlights

  • Apollo Tyres to deploy 25 mobile retail vans across India within 18 to 24 months
  • Mobile vans will provide tyre sales and expert advice directly in rural villages
  • Initiative aims to address limited access to organised tyre retail in remote areas
  • First unit launched in Mandya district, Karnataka on May 20, 2026

Mobile Retail Vans Initiative

The first Apollo Tyres mobile retail van began operations on May 20, 2026, at Pandavapura village in Mandya, Karnataka. Rajesh Dahiya, Vice President, Commercial, Apollo Tyres Ltd., flagged off the inaugural unit. Each van carries a curated range of tyres and is staffed by trained representatives. These staff members provide on-site guidance about tyre selection, usage, and maintenance, helping customers make informed decisions at the point of sale.

The vans will travel to villages across India, removing the need for rural customers to visit urban dealerships for purchases or product information. This format is designed to address the lack of organized retail options in many rural locations, where tyre dealerships are sparse or absent. The company plans to expand the fleet to 25 vehicles across the country within two years.

Addressing Rural Market Gaps

Rural markets in India have long been underserved by organized automotive component retailers. Many customers in remote regions rely on limited local options or must travel significant distances to access branded products and technical advice. This lack of access can affect vehicle safety and maintenance decisions.

Rajesh Dahiya stated that the initiative aims to reduce these access gaps. "By bringing our products and expertise directly to the customers' doorstep, we aim to simplify the buying journey and ensure that even the most remote communities have access to the right mobility solutions," he said.

At the launch event, Apollo Tyres Foundation, the company's community development arm, also organized a free health checkup camp. This effort highlights the company's commitment to supporting rural communities beyond product sales.
