CEAT Q1 FY27 Results Revenue Up 22% Margins Under Pressure
CEAT Q1 FY27 Results Revenue

CEAT Limited opened FY27 with strong top-line growth, even as the tyre maker navigated a difficult quarter shaped by raw material inflation and margin pressure. In its latest quarterly update, the company reported consolidated revenue of Rs. 4,318 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up 22% year-on-year, while net profit came in at Rs. 4 crore.

The numbers highlight a familiar theme for the tyre industry: demand remains healthy, but costs are still doing the heavy lifting. CEAT said the West Asia crisis continued to push up commodity prices, affecting gross and operating margins. However, the company offset part of the pressure through calibrated price increases and disciplined execution.

Revenue Growth Holds Up

CEAT’s consolidated EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 8.56%, reflecting the strain from higher input costs. On a standalone basis, revenue reached Rs. 4,163 crore, rising 18% year on year, with an EBITDA margin of 9.13% and net profit of Rs. 98 crore.

For an automotive supplier, this kind of performance matters because it shows the business is still moving volume despite a challenging cost environment. Reuters also noted that CEAT’s quarterly results were hit by rising raw material prices, which offset some of the benefit from pricing actions taken during the period.

From The Director's Desk

Arnab Banerjee, MD and CEO of CEAT Limited, described the quarter as challenging for the industry, pointing to inflation in raw material costs driven by the West Asia crisis. He said the company responded with price increases while staying focused on demand and market share, adding that CEAT will continue to take a disciplined approach to pricing in Q2.

CFO Kumar Subbiah said the company had taken cumulative price increases of 5% and expects raw material costs to remain elevated in the second quarter as well. He added that CEAT stayed invested in capex worth around Rs 300 crore to strengthen capacity, while keeping discretionary spending under tight control to protect cash and profitability.

Capacity Expansion Plans

In a move that signals confidence in future demand, CEAT’s board approved an investment of Rs. 1,205 crore for capacity expansion in the two-wheeler tyre segment. That decision is especially relevant for India’s mobility market, where two-wheelers remain a core volume driver and tyre replacement demand continues to support aftermarket growth.

CEAT’s first-quarter update paints a picture of a company balancing growth and caution. Revenue momentum remains strong, capacity utilisation appears healthy, and management is still investing for the future, but margins will likely stay under pressure until input costs stabilise.

CarBike 360 Says

CEAT’s Q1 FY27 performance reflects strong demand momentum, but rising input costs have tempered margin expansion. While revenue growth remains robust, sustained pressure on raw material prices could influence near-term profitability. Going forward, cost management and pricing strategies will be key in maintaining earnings stability amid evolving market conditions and competitive intensity.
