Key Changes for 2027 Model
The 2027 KLX230R S features a revised riding position. Kawasaki has moved the handlebar 25mm further forward. This adjustment is intended to improve rider mobility and control, especially when riding in a standing position over rough terrain.
The motorcycle now comes with a larger fuel tank. The capacity has increased from 6.6 litres to 7.6 litres. This change is expected to offer a better riding range and reduce the need for frequent fuel stops, which is especially useful on extended trail rides or in remote areas.
Comfort has also been addressed with a redesigned seat. The new seat uses urethane that is 6mm thicker than before, providing better cushioning for long rides. Despite the additional padding, Kawasaki has managed to lower the seat height by 20mm while keeping the flat seat profile. The reduced seat height should make the motorcycle more accessible to a wider range of riders.
Mechanical Details and Off-Road Focus
The KLX230R S continues with the same mechanical setup as before. It is powered by a 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed gearbox. The engine produces 19.57bhp at 8,000rpm and 20.6Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.
The motorcycle retains its off-road-focused hardware. It features long-travel suspension, a 21-inch front wheel, an 18-inch rear wheel, and knobby tyres. These components are designed to handle challenging off-road conditions.
The KLX230R S is built exclusively for off-road use and is not road legal. It remains one of the most accessible factory-built trail motorcycles in the Indian market. The model caters to enthusiasts seeking a dedicated machine for recreational off-roading and rider training.
