Exterior

At the Bharat Mobility Show 2024, Tata Motors proudly displayed the electric version of its iconic Harrier SUV. The Tata Harrier EV retains the rugged and muscular design of its Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) counterpart but introduces distinct elements, including a blanked-off front grille, redesigned front bumper with vertical slats, aero-designed alloy wheels, and a revised rear profile. The SUV features a full-width LED light bar, dual-tone exterior paint options, Seaweed Green color, split LED headlamps, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite.
Powertrain and Specifications
Built on the Activ.EV platform, the Harrier EV boasts an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) configuration and a larger, more efficient battery pack than its predecessor. With a claimed range exceeding 500 km on a single charge, the electric SUV aims to set new standards for performance and sustainability.
Interior Luxury and Technology
Inside, the cabin reflects the familiar layout of the ICE model but offers enhanced spaciousness due to the new EV platform. Loaded with cutting-edge features, the Tata Harrier EV includes a large touchscreen infotainment system with Arcade EV tech, a digital instrument cluster with navigation support, a twin-spoke steering wheel with a glow-up Tata logo, touch-based phygital HVAC controls, powered and ventilated front seats, a 360-degree surround camera, and a revised center console with AWD controls.

Frontal Flair

The 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo showcased the Tata Harrier EV in a striking Emerald Green hue. The front design remains consistent with the 2023 Auto Expo concept, featuring connected LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), a closed-off grille with horizontal slats, and vertically placed LED headlights. Notable additions include a sleek skid plate design and the inclusion of the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) radar.
Side Sophistication

The side profile mirrors the ICE version but is subtly differentiated with ".ev" badging on the front fenders. The dual-tone paint scheme, gloss black finish on the roof and pillars, slim cladding around the wheel arches, and aerodynamic dual-tone alloy wheels give the electric Harrier a distinctive appearance.
Rear Radiance
The rear profile boasts connected LED taillights and Z-shaped wraparound light elements. The gloss black roof-integrated rear spoiler adds a touch of sportiness, while the massive bumper houses a skid plate with vertical design elements, completing the SUV's dynamic look.
Upcoming Launch and Competition

Tata plans to launch the Harrier EV later this year, with an estimated starting price of Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned as a direct competitor to the Mahindra XUV.e8, the electric SUV also aims to provide a premium and spacious alternative to the Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV.
Verdict
The Tata Harrier EV emerges as a symbol of Tata Motors' commitment to an electrified future, combining iconic design with cutting-edge electric technology. As the automotive industry continues its electrification journey, Tata Motors takes a significant step forward with the Harrier EV, setting new benchmarks in the electric SUV segment.
