Mini India has opened bookings for the all-electric Countryman on its official website, with the launch anticipated in the coming weeks.
Platform, Exterior, Interior
Available only with a petrol engine in India, the new electric version of the Countryman, features design updates similar to the new Mini Cooper, including an octagonal front grille and redesigned headlights and tail-lights. Inside, the cabin boasts a sleek, minimalist aesthetic with a round touchscreen dominating the dashboard. Additional features include a gear selector placed on the panel below the infotainment screen, alongside the handbrake button, turn-key starter, driving mode selector, and audio control dial. The Countryman Electric also offers advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), an in-car camera, electric seat adjustments with a massage function for the driver, and more.

Powertrain, Price, Rivals
The all-electric Countryman is available in two powertrain options: a single-motor, front-wheel-drive version with 204hp and 250Nm of torque, and a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version with 313hp and 494Nm of torque. Both variants come with a 66.45kWh battery, offering ranges of 462km and 433km, respectively. It remains to be seen which version will be introduced in India.
The current petrol-powered Mini Countryman starts at Rs 48.10 lakh (ex-showroom), but the new electric version is expected to be priced higher. It will compete with similarly sized electric vehicles like the BMW iX1, Volvo XC40 Recharge, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6.
By launching the all-electric Countryman, Mini India is set to expand its lineup and offer a compelling alternative in the premium electric SUV market.
