The Nissan Tekton has launched in India with prices starting at Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers can choose from six variants: Visia, Visia Plus, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna, and Tekna Plus.

The Visia Plus sits above the base Visia and offers essential features for daily use. The Acenta, positioned above Visia Plus, brings additional features at a higher price. This article compares the Visia Plus and Acenta variants to help buyers decide which offers better value.

Key Highlights

  • Nissan Tekton launched in India starting at Rs 10.49 lakh ex-showroom.
  • Visia Plus and Acenta variants compared on features pricing and engine options.
  • The Acenta variant offers a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine with automatic transmission.
  • Both variants include six airbags and received a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating.

Pricing and Engine Options

The base Visia variant starts at Rs 10.49 lakh. The Visia Plus is priced at Rs 11.14 lakh, while the Acenta starts at Rs 11.79 lakh. The price difference between the 1-litre turbo petrol Visia Plus and Acenta is Rs 65,000. Both variants come with a 1-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The Acenta also offers a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, available only with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 1.3-litre engine option starts from the Acenta variant.

Exterior and Interior Features

Both Visia Plus and Acenta share the same silhouette but differ in appearance. Both variants have a bold, upright fascia; signature Tekton bonnet decal; connected grille with vertical slats; LED headlights with DRLs; and a silver skid plate. The Acenta adds 17-inch dual-tone wheel covers, roof rails, and a shark-fin antenna.

Both variants have body-coloured ORVMs with integrated LED turn indicators but lack 18-inch alloy wheels and puddle lamps, which are reserved for higher trims. At the rear, both feature LED taillights, an integrated roof spoiler, and a silver-finished skid plate. The connected LED light bar is only available on higher variants.

The Tekton offers 11 colour options, with six monotone and five dual-tone choices. Pearl White, Blade Silver, and Onyx Black are available on both variants. The Acenta also offers Flare Garnet Red.

Refreshed Interiors

Inside, both variants share an all-black interior with fabric upholstery and silver inserts. The dashboard and door pads feature soft-touch trims. Both have a 3-spoke steering wheel with a double D-cut design. The Acenta adds a 60:40 split rear seat, a rear centre armrest with a smartphone and cup holder, seatback pockets, and a parcel shelf, enhancing practicality.

Both variants include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 4-speaker Arkamys audio system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, all one-touch power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, automatic headlights, steering-mounted audio controls, tilt and telescopic steering, a height-adjustable driver seat, manual AC, rear AC vents, LED cabin lights, frameless wipers, and a 12V power socket.

The Acenta upgrades to a 10.1-inch infotainment screen; adds voice recognition, keyless entry, push-button start, cruise control and speed limiter (DCT only), welcome and goodbye animation, two fast-charging USB Type-C ports, and paddle shifters (DCT only).

Safety Suites

Safety features on both variants include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, TCS, brake assist, cornering stability control, hill hold, rollover sensors, a reverse parking camera, rear sensors, TPMS, central locking, speed-sensing auto door lock, impact-sensing unlock, 3-point seatbelts for all seats, and ISOFIX mounts.

The Tekton has a 5-star Bharat-NCAP safety rating. The Acenta adds an electronic parking brake with auto-hold (DCT only), rear disc brakes (DCT only), a rear wiper, a washer, a defogger, and a full-size 17-inch spare wheel.

Market Outlook

The Nissan Tekton competes with models like the Skoda Kushaq, Renault Duster, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Tata Sierra, Tata Curvv, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and MG Astor.

The Acenta justifies its Rs 65,000 premium by offering more comfort, convenience, and safety features. It is also the most affordable variant with the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine and automatic transmission. The Visia Plus remains a practical choice for buyers with a tighter budget, while the Acenta offers a richer ownership experience and broader appeal.
