Renault Kiger Turbo CVT real-world mileage test: Surprising efficiency results
The Renault Kiger Turbo CVT has been tested in real-world conditions to evaluate its actual mileage. Here’s how it performs beyond claimed figures.

The Renault Kiger, equipped with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine and CVT, underwent a real-world mileage test in India. The facelifted model, launched in mid-2025, has not had its official mileage figures disclosed by the manufacturer at the time of this report. However, independent testing provides insight into its fuel efficiency in both city and highway conditions.
Key Highlights
- Renault Kiger Turbo CVT tested for real-world mileage in India
- City mileage recorded at 10.41 km/L and highway at 15.56 km/L
- The test used Normal drive mode with standard comfort features activated
Tested Mileage Figures
During the test, the Kiger Turbo CVT achieved a city fuel efficiency of 10.41 kmpl. The Multi-Information Display (MID) indicated a slightly higher figure of 10.5 kmpl. On the highway, the vehicle returned a tested mileage of 15.56 kmpl, while the MID displayed 16.2 kmpl. These MID figures closely matched the real-world results, indicating consistent performance between the car's onboard system and actual usage.
The tested Kiger Turbo CVT weighed 1070 kg. The test was conducted using the default Normal drive mode. The vehicle also offers Eco and Sport drive modes, but these were not used during the evaluation. Climate control settings included fan speeds at levels 3-4 and a temperature of 22 degrees Celsius. Other features such as the infotainment system and seat ventilation were used as they would be during typical daily driving.
Engine and Transmission Options
The Renault Kiger is available with multiple powertrain choices. The tested model featured a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a CVT automatic transmission. Additionally, the Kiger can be equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox for the turbo variant. There is also a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine option, which can be matched with either a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
At the time of testing, Renault had not published official mileage figures for the updated Kiger. The real-world results provide prospective buyers with practical information about the car's fuel efficiency under standard driving conditions.
Driving Conditions and Features
The mileage test was conducted under typical urban and highway scenarios. The use of normal drive mode and standard comfort features aimed to replicate everyday use. This approach ensures the reported figures reflect what most drivers can expect in real-life situations.
