Latest Update: Royal Enfield Bullet 650 is launching soon in the Indian market and will be powered by a 650cc twin-cylinder engine, taking the iconic Bullet nameplate into the higher displacement category. With its long legacy, classic design, and built-on-time-tested 650cc platform, the upcoming Bullet 650 motorcycle aims to attract riders seeking retro-style motorcycles with more prominent engine options and road presence than the existing 350cc Bullet.
The RE 650 Bullet is expected to retain its traditional styling, but it may benefit from some major mechanical advancements introduced by RE’s latest twin-cylinder lineup.
Featuring retro-inspired design language (similar to Bullet 350), the Royal Enfield Bullet 650 will have a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a stepped single-piece seat, and wire-spoked wheels. It will also get a tall handlebar and chrome headlamp nacelle.
Recent spy shots unveil a design that resembles the 350cc model; the all-new RE Bullet 650 will have slightly different design proportions because of the larger powertrain and new underpinnings.
In terms of specifications, the model is expected to come equipped with a semi-digital instrument cluster, halogen headlamp, and minimalistic technology to keep it in line with retro-design motorcycles.
The engine will get the same 647.9cc air or oil-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine as the Royal Enfield Interceptor 65 and Continental GT 650. This unit can produce 46 bhp and 52 Nm of torque and comes mated with a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. While the power unit will remain the same, the two-wheeler manufacturer is expected to make some tuning to match the character of its iconic Bullet series motorcycle.
It may ride on 18-inch wire-spoke wheels on both ends with a suspension similar to the Super Meteor 650, including telescopic front forks and dual rear springs. For braking duties, it may receive a 320 mm disc at the front and a 300 mm disc in the rear with dual-channel ABS support.
Expected Price & Rivals
Royal Enfield 650 Bullet is expected to be priced at Rs 3,00,000 in India and compete with BSA Gold Star and Keyway K-Lite 250V.
