Coming from India’s largest two-wheeler maker, this scooter has attempted to take the sale to the next level. And like the Maestro Edge, the Duet too is completely a home-grown technology offered by Hero MotoCorp thereby coming up with completely new platform and powertrain. It is positioned somewhere between the masculine Maestro and the effeminate Pleasure. The brand’s new unisex 1100cc family scooter, charged with the intention to boost Hero' sales in the expanding scooter segment.
The metal body is beautifully crafted into a latest and dynamic shape, which makes it one of the fine-looking scooters in the segment. The front with the headlamp and the turn signals has been integrated into a single unit on the handlebar, along with the V-shaped chrome strip adding the most modest amount of bling. The black floorboard, the seating structure and the grab rail contrast looks beautiful with the funky paint schemes.
The Hero Duet is strengthened by a latest 111cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. This engine generates 8bhp and 8Nm of torque through a CVT transmission. There is telescopic suspension at the front and a spring-loaded hydraulic damper in the rear of the bike making it strong. The sporty looking bike has 10-inch metal wheels and 90/100 profile tubeless tyres. This vehicle proves that innovation is the key, hence latest technology combi brakes, with drum brakes at both ends are included.
Available in six funky paint schemes of red, silver white, grey, matte grey, green and black, the bike has a direct competition with other 110cc scooters like the Suzuki Let’s, Mahindra Gusto, TVS Jupiter and the Honda Activa-i. The starting price is very lucrative of Rs 49,565 (ex-showroom).
