Ola Electric has recently introduced the Ola Gig and Ola Gig+ scooters to the market. The Gig is priced at Rs 39,999, while the Gig+ is priced at Rs 49,999. The reservations are already started just at Rs.499 and deliveries are set to commence in April 2025.

The Ola Gig and Ola Gig+ are designed for gig workers and those needing reliable, affordable electric scooters for daily use in local areas.

Variants

Ola Gig series is available in two variants including Ola Gig (STD), Ola Gig+

Battery and Power

Ola Gig STD

The standard variant is equipped with a 1.5 kWh removable battery and is powered by an electronic hub motor of 250W. It delivers an IDC-certified range of up to 112 km on a full charge and goes up to 25 km/h max.

Ola Gig+

Ola Gig+ runs on a 1.5 kW hub motor, powered by dual removable batteries of 1.5 kWh each. It delivers an impressive IDC-certified range of up to 81-157 kms on dual full-charged batteries providing a top speed of 45 kmph.

Features

Ola Gig series features a mobile application that allows you to lock/unlock the handle and provides battery information including low-battery alerts. Additional features include fast charging, a digital instrument cluster, and compatibility with Ola PowerPod.

Boot Capacity

Despite providing two removable battery options, Ola has designed a spacious boot with two distinct storage compartments for added convenience.

Wheel Size

The Ola Gig series features 12-inch alloy rims paired with tubeless tires on both the front and rear for better grip and smooth ride.

Once launched, the Ola Gig (STD) will compete with other low-speed electric scooters, such as Yulu's Wynn, priced at ₹59,999, offering a top speed of 25 km/h and a range of 70 km; and Okinawa’s R30, priced at ₹61,998, with a top speed of 25 km/h and a range of 60 km.

Ola Gig+  

The Ola Gig+ will face competition from models like the Komaki X One Graphene, which starts at ₹39,049, offering a range of up to 120 km and a top speed of 45 km/h; Avon E Scoot 504 STD, priced at ₹49,696, providing a range of around 100 km and a top speed of 45 km/h; and Zelio Gracy i 28 Ah 48V, starting at ₹56,825, with a range of up to 150 km and a top speed of 45 km/h.
