Exterior Design Changes

The new Honda City facelift draws inspiration from Honda’s latest models. The front fascia now features sharper lines, replacing the curvier profile of the current version. The top-mounted daytime running lights (DRLs) remain, but the headlamps may receive new detailing. The front grille and bumper have also been revised. The test vehicle uses horizontally stacked grille inserts, moving away from the existing mesh pattern. These changes suggest a more upright and dominant road presence.

The side profile remains largely unchanged, except for new, more rugged alloy wheels. Features such as dual-tone outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) with integrated turn signals, conventional door handles, and a sloping roofline continue. At the rear, the tail lamps have updated detailing, while the basic design stays the same. Bumper reflectors are now vertically stacked at the edges, replacing the previous horizontal layout.

Interior and Feature Updates

The 2026 Honda City facelift is expected to have limited interior changes, as a next-generation model is planned for 2028. For the Indian market, a 360-degree camera is likely to be added, enhancing safety features. The current safety package includes hill start assist, a rear camera, rear parking sensors, six airbags, vehicle stability assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The City sedan also offers the Honda SENSING advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). This suite includes collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, lead car departure notification, road departure mitigation, and auto high beam.

Engine and Pricing

The 2026 Honda City facelift will continue with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces 121 PS and 145 Nm of torque. It is available with either a 6-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Depending on the extent of updates, the facelifted model may see a price revision. The current Honda City starts at Rs 11.99 lakh. The City competes with models like the Skoda Slavia.
