Aprilla has made its entry in the adventure touring segment by launching its latest Tuareg 660. Needless to mention the eye-catching design of this new offering of Aprilia, Tuareg is all set to rule the adventure riding experience for enthusiasts.
A Premium Offering: Pricing and Variants
The Tuareg 660 comes with a starting price of Rs. 18.85 lakh (Ex-showroom), positioning it at the higher end of the market. The bike will be available in three distinct colour variants, including the Atreides Black and Canyon Sand priced and the range-topping Evocative Dakar Podium colour variant, Aprilia aims to cater to different tastes and preferences among adventure riders.

Engine and Technology
Underneath its rugged exterior lies a powerful 660 cc parallel-twin engine, derived from the renowned 1,100 cc V4 unit of the RSV 1000 platform. This engine delivers a claimed output of 79.8 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 70 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm, ensuring exhilarating performance both on and off the road.
The Tuareg 660 is not just about raw power; it also boasts cutting-edge technology to enhance the riding experience. With the Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) electronics suite, riders can customize engine maps, traction control settings, and engine braking to suit their preferences. Additionally, features like switchable ABS, cruise control, and Bluetooth connectivity accessible via a 5-inch TFT console further elevate the motorcycle's appeal.
Features and Specifications
Aprilia has left no stone unturned in equipping the Tuareg 660 for the rigors of adventure riding. The motorcycle features a robust chassis with a lightweight tubular steel trellis frame, providing a perfect balance of agility and stability.
With 240 mm of ground clearance, fully adjustable 43 mm upside-down forks offering 240 mm of travel, and a Kayaba monoshock, the Tuareg 660 is ready to tackle even the most challenging terrains with confidence. Its 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoked wheels, fitted with tubeless tires, ensure superior grip and control, further enhancing the riding experience.

Positioning in the Indian Market
Despite its impressive features and performance capabilities, the Tuareg 660 faces stiff competition in the Indian market. Priced comparably to adventure bikes positioned a segment higher, such as the Triumph Tiger 900 range, it must justify its premium pricing to attract discerning buyers.
Moreover, competing against established rivals like the Honda XL750 Transalp and the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE, the Tuareg 660 must carve out its niche to establish a foothold in the fiercely competitive adventure touring segment.
CarBike360 Says
As Tuareg has been the most awaited arrival in the Indian market, the motorcycle will dynamically change the scenario of the adventure segment in the motorcycle industry. With the elements of power, performance, and advanced technology, we can see this motorcycle capturing a wider segment of adventure enthusiasts with its thrilling performance offerings.
