Audi India Recalls 207 Q8 e-tron and e-tron Sportback EVs Over Brake Issue
Audi India has recalled 207 Q8 e-tron and e-tron Sportback electric vehicles manufactured between 2018 and 2024 due to a potential brake system issue. Dealers will inspect and replace affected parts at no cost.

Audi India has announced a voluntary recall of 207 electric vehicles due to a potential braking system issue. The recall affects the Audi Q8 e-tron and Audi Q8 e-tron Sportback, as well as earlier models sold as the Audi e-tron and Audi e-tron Sportback. The affected vehicles were manufactured between February 2, 2018, and June 11, 2024.
Key Highlights
- Audi India recalls 207 electric vehicles due to potential brake system issue
- Recall includes Q8 e-tron and e-tron Sportback models manufactured from 2018 to 2024
- Affected vehicles may have a loose brake servo push rod assembly connection
- Dealers will inspect and replace faulty parts at no cost to owners
- Backup emergency braking function is available in the affected vehicles
Recall Details and Safety Concerns
The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers reported the issue involves a bolted connection in the brake servo push rod assembly. In certain cases, this connection may not meet required standards and could loosen over time. If the connection becomes completely disengaged, it may disrupt the mechanical link between the brake pedal and the brake servo. This could impact the vehicle's braking performance.
Although the likelihood of a complete failure is considered low, Audi has equipped these vehicles with a backup safety feature. If the mechanical link fails, drivers can use a controlled emergency braking function by pressing and holding the electromechanical parking brake switch.
Recall Process and Customer Support
Audi dealerships will contact affected customers to inspect the vehicles and replace the faulty component if necessary. This inspection and replacement will be provided at no cost to the customer. Owners can also reach out to Audi India’s customer support helpline or email service for further information and assistance.
Currently, Audi India does not offer any electric models for sale in the domestic market. However, this recall highlights the company's ongoing responsibility to ensure the safety of vehicles already in use.
