Best-Selling Sub-4m SUVs in June 2026 Sales Report
The Tata Punch secured the first position as India's best-selling sub-4m SUV in India for the month of June 2026. This sale of the Punch represents around 19.1% market share in the Indian sub-4m SUV segment. Tata Punch led with 21,006 units, while Tata Nexon posted 18,335 units, giving Tata a powerful one-two punch at the top of the rankings.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV 3XO also delivered healthy numbers, each crossing the 10,000-unit mark. The lower half of the list was smaller in volume but still meaningful, especially for products like Skoda Kylqaq, Toyota Taisor, and Kia Syros, which continue to build their place in a crowded category. Let's take a closer look at the best-selling sub-4m SUVs in June 2026 in India.
Rank 1: Tata Punch
Tata Punch remained the undisputed leader with 21,006 units in June 2026, more than doubling its year-on-year performance. Its 101.1 percent growth and 19.1 percent segment share underline how strongly it continues to connect with urban buyers seeking a compact, rugged, and affordable SUV.
Rank 2: Tata Nexon
The Tata Nexon stayed firmly in second place with 18,335 units, rising 58% over the same month last year. With a 16.6% segment share, it remains one of the most influential models in the segment, benefiting from broad appeal, strong brand equity, and a well-balanced feature list.
Rank 3: Maruti Suzuki Fronx
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx recorded 13,135 units, up 33.8% Y-o-Y. Its 11.9% share reflects the model’s growing acceptance among buyers who want crossover styling, city-friendly packaging, and the reassurance of the Maruti Suzuki network.
Rank 4: Hyundai Venue
The Hyundai Venue posted 10,776 units, climbing 57.1% from June 2025. With a 9.8 percent segment share, it continues to be a key player in the compact SUV space, helped by its familiar design, strong feature list, and premium positioning.
Rank 5: Mahindra XUV 3XO
The Mahindra XUV 3XO delivered 10,063 units and a solid 42% Y-o-Y rise. The model’s 9.1% share shows that Mahindra has quickly turned this nameplate into a serious contender, with buyers responding well to its modern cabin, road presence, and tech-led appeal.
Rank 6: Maruti Suzuki Brezza
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza sold 9,939 units, but the headline here is the 31.5% decline from June 2025. Even so, its 9% share keeps it in the upper tier of the market, and the model still has enough brand strength to remain relevant in a fast-moving segment.
Rank 7: Kia Sonet
The Kia Sonet reached 9,231 units in June 2026, up 38.6% Y-oY. With an 8.4 percent share, it remains one of the most feature-rich and desirable compact SUVs on sale, continuing to attract buyers who value design, equipment, and a premium feel.
Rank 8: Hyundai Exter
The Hyundai Exter posted 8,154 units and 38.8% growth, giving it a 7.4 percent share. The model has carved out its own identity with SUV styling and urban practicality, and June’s numbers suggest it is steadily strengthening Hyundai’s presence in the entry SUV space.
Rank 9: Skoda Kylaq
The Skoda Kylaq registered 4,039 units, a 26.4% improvement over last year. Its 3.7 percent share may be smaller than the leaders, but the model is clearly finding its audience among buyers drawn to European design, solid dynamics, and a more premium compact SUV character.
Rank 10: Toyota Taisor
The Toyota Taisor ended June with 2,483 units, up 3.1% Y-o-Y. Although its 2.3% segment share is modest, the model gives Toyota a useful entry point into the sub-4-metre SUV class, where refinement and brand trust matter just as much as outright volume.
Rank 11: Nissan Magnite
The Nissan Magnite sold 1,167 units, down 11.1% from June 2025. Its 1.1 percent share shows that the model still has a place in the market, but it now faces a tougher challenge from better-established rivals with stronger momentum and fresher positioning.
Rank 12: Kia Syros
Kia Syros recorded 790 units and a small but positive 2.1% growth rate. With a 0.7 percent share, it is still in the early stages of building scale, but Kia’s brand strength and product execution give it room to expand further over the coming months.
Rank 13: Renault Kiger
The Renault Kiger posted 689 units, slipping 8.7% year-on-year. Its 0.6 percent share reflects the challenge of staying visible in a segment where newer launches and stronger brand pull have reshaped buyer attention, making sustained momentum harder to maintain.
Rank 14: Maruti Suzuki Jimny
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny closed the list with 354 units, down 4.6% from June 2025. While its 0.3 percent share is tiny in volume terms, the Jimny continues to serve a niche audience that values its off-road character, distinctive styling, and cult-like brand identity.
