  • BMW Group India will raise prices by up to 2 percent from 1 July 2026
  • Both locally assembled and imported BMW and MINI models are affected by the price increase
  • The adjustment addresses currency depreciation and higher global freight costs

Price Adjustment Details

The new pricing will affect the entire BMW and MINI lineup in India. This includes vehicles assembled at BMW Group India's domestic plant and fully imported models. The company confirmed that both luxury sedans and SUVs, as well as performance and electric vehicles, will see revised prices.

Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, explained that the price increase is necessary. He cited persistent macroeconomic challenges, including ongoing currency depreciation and higher global logistics costs. Brar stated that the adjustment will help maintain BMW's operational standards and premium service levels.

Models Impacted by the Price Hike

The locally assembled models affected include the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, the long-wheelbase versions of the 3 Series and 5 Series, and the flagship 7 Series sedan. The SUV lineup—comprising the X1, X3, X5, and X7—will also be subject to the new pricing. Locally built performance and electric vehicles, such as the M340i and iX1 Long Wheelbase, are included in the revision.

The price increase will also impact imported models brought in as completely built-up units. These include the electric i5 M60, i7, i7 M70, and iX. Other affected models are the M440i convertible, M2 coupe, M4 competition, M5 sedan, and the XM hybrid crossover.

Rationale Behind the Decision

BMW Group India attributes the price hike to two main factors: the depreciation of the Indian rupee and increased global shipping costs. The company says these challenges have raised operational expenses. The price adjustment is intended to ensure that BMW and MINI continue to deliver the engineering quality and service expected by luxury vehicle buyers in India.

The company emphasized that the increase is marginal and necessary to sustain its business model. The new prices will be effective for all purchases made from 1 July 2026 onward.

CarBike 360 Says

The upcoming price revision reflects the broader trend of rising input and logistics costs impacting the automotive sector. While the increase is relatively modest, it may influence buying decisions in the premium segment. Customers planning a purchase may benefit from acting before July, as BMW continues to balance cost pressures with maintaining its luxury appeal in India.
