In a significant announcement, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has reaffirmed the Indian government's ambitious goal to position India as the world's premier automobile manufacturing hub. The minister emphasized the aim to elevate the current ₹12.5 lakh crore industry to an impressive ₹25 lakh crore. Additionally, Gadkari also urged domestic auto manufacturers to embrace clean technologies such as electric vehicles (EVs) to ensure their competitiveness on the global stage.

A Vision for Growth

The minister has consistently highlighted the pivotal role that the industry plays in the nation's self-reliance initiatives, emphasizing its contribution to the goal of achieving a $5 trillion economy. He underscored the need for strategic investments in clean technologies, suggesting that failure to do so could result in missed opportunities for the manufacturers.

Impressive Progress and Global Standing

Gadkari proudly shared the remarkable progress made by the Indian automobile sector on the global stage. When he assumed office, India held the seventh position globally in the automotive sector. Since then, through concerted efforts and industry collaboration, India has surged ahead, claiming the third position globally.
