With the introduction of the CB300F Flex-Fuel motorcycle, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has taken a major step toward India's switch to sustainable fuel options. This is India's first 300cc flex-fuel motorcycle, priced at ₹1.70 lakh (ex-showroom), and it will be sold through the network of Honda BigWing dealerships.
Honda has a lot of expertise with flex-fuel technology, even though the CB300F is the brand's first motorcycle in India to use the fuel. In Brazil, Honda has already sold more than seven million motorcycles using flex fuel. Nonetheless, TVS was the first company to introduce the Apache RTR 200 Fi E100, a flex-fuel bike, to the Indian market. However, that vehicle was never able to reach consumers because flex fuel was not readily available. Additionally, Honda has not yet provided an estimated date of delivery for the CB300F Flex-Fuel in India.
The Honda CB300F Flex-Fuel is powered by a 293.52cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke PGM-FI engine, which supports fuel compositions up to E85 (85% ethanol and 15% gasoline). The engine produces 24.5 bhp and 25.9 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an assist slipper clutch for smoother gear transitions.
The flex-fuel version of the Honda CB300F retains the design of its petrol counterpart currently sold in India. Key features include:
The bike has a digital instrument panel that can be customized to show important information such as the speed, gasoline level, dual trip meters, gear position, clock, and odometer. The Intelligent Ethanol Indicator is a special feature that helps riders monitor gasoline quality by alerting them when the fuel contains more than 85% ethanol.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Managing Director, President, and CEO, Tsutsumu Otani, stressed that the CB300F Flex-Fuel is a component of Honda's larger plan to become carbon neutral by 2050. Honda is introducing its ten years of worldwide experience in flex-fuel technology to the Indian market in order to help Indian riders make a seamless transition to sustainable transportation.
