Discontinued Models Overview

The discontinued models include the CB650R street fighter, CBR650R supersport, and X-ADV crossover maxi scooter. Honda sold these bikes through its premium Big Wing dealerships. The CB650R and CBR650R both featured a 649cc four-cylinder engine, producing 93.8 bhp and 63 Nm of torque. The CB650R was priced at Rs 9.6 lakh (ex-showroom), while the CBR650R cost Rs 10.4 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Honda X-ADV, a unique crossover maxi scooter, was priced at Rs 11.9 lakh (ex-showroom). It came equipped with a 745cc engine generating 57.79 bhp and 69 Nm of torque. The X-ADV used a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, setting it apart from other offerings in the segment.

Possible Reasons and Future Outlook

Honda has not provided an official reason for discontinuing these models. However, the company often removes premium products from its lineup once the allocated units for India are sold out. These models were imported via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route, which limits the number of units available in the market.

There is a possibility that Honda may reintroduce these models if more units are allocated for India in 2026 or 2027. In the past, Honda has discontinued and later relaunched some of these models, including in 2025. However, there is no official confirmation regarding their return at this time.

Features and Technology

Some of the discontinued models offered Honda’s proprietary e-Clutch technology. This system allowed riders to choose between automatic, semi-automatic, and full manual riding modes. The technology aimed to enhance the riding experience by providing flexibility and convenience.

Honda’s decision affects its premium motorcycle and scooter lineup in India. The company continues to offer other models, including the CB350 series, at the lower end of its Big Wing range.
