The E-Clutch system electronically manages clutch engagement during starts, gear shifts, and stops. This reduces the need for manual clutch operation, especially in heavy traffic and on long rides. Riders can override the system and operate the clutch manually if they prefer. Honda states that this technology improves comfort in urban conditions while maintaining the traditional riding feel of manual motorcycles.

The NX500 continues to use a 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Honda has tuned the engine to deliver stronger low- and mid-range torque while maintaining linear power at higher RPMs. The motorcycle uses a steel diamond frame and features Showa SFF-BP upside-down front forks. The rear suspension is a preload-adjustable monoshock. Braking is handled by dual front disc brakes and a rear disc brake, with dual-channel ABS for safety.

Equipment and Availability

The NX500 rides on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. It comes equipped with a 5-inch TFT display that supports Honda RoadSync connectivity. Other features include Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and full-LED lighting. Customers can choose between the Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic and Pearl Horizon White color options.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India President and CEO Tsutsumu Otani said the E-Clutch aims to enhance comfort and control for both urban and touring riders. The technology is designed to reduce fatigue while retaining an engaging riding experience.
