- New Elantra features larger dimensions and updated Art of Steel design language
- Interior includes Pleos Connect interface and up to 14.6 inch infotainment touchscreen
- Hybrid powertrain upgraded to 157hp with improved battery and regenerative braking

Exterior and Design Updates
The new Elantra measures 4,765mm in length, 1,855mm in width, 1,425mm in height, and has a 2,750mm wheelbase. Compared to the previous model, it is 55mm longer, 30mm wider, and has a 30mm longer wheelbase. Hyundai’s Art of Steel design language brings sharper lines and more pronounced creases to the bodywork.
The front features a split-headlamp setup with T-shaped daytime running lights above and rhomboidal LED units below. Unlike the Sonata and Verna, the connecting section between the DRLs does not illuminate. The bumper includes black trim, a slim upper intake, and a lower air dam. On the sides, the Elantra has bulging wheel arches, sharper lines, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, flap-type door handles, and black cladding on the side skirts. A rear quarter glass helps break up the visual mass of the C- and D-pillars.
The rear design includes an integrated ducktail-style spoiler, large T-shaped LED tail-lamps, a wordmark on the tailgate, and a robust bumper with black cladding and diffuser elements.
Interior Features and Technology
Inside, the Elantra features Hyundai’s Pleos Connect interface. This includes a large centrally-mounted infotainment touchscreen up to 14.6 inches and a slim digital driver’s display on a redesigned dashboard. The passenger grab handle on the central tunnel is no longer present.
The cabin has a three-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel with Hyundai’s four-dot motif and several buttons. The center console contains toggles and knobs for hazard lights, media, air conditioning, and other functions, maintaining physical controls. Ambient lighting, dual wireless charging pads, and ample storage are also included.
Key features include a Bang and Olufsen sound system, built-in dashcam, over-the-air updates, digital key, 100W USB charging ports, 10 airbags, an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), electronic parking brake with auto-hold, powered front seats with memory, dual-zone climate control, 360-degree camera, and auto park assist.
Powertrain and Safety Enhancements
The new Elantra retains the previous 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 149hp and paired with a CVT automatic. The 1.6-litre hybrid powertrain now delivers 157hp, an increase of 16hp, and features improvements to its transmission, drive motor, and battery capacity.
The hybrid model introduces a smart regenerative braking system that adjusts braking based on traffic and navigation data, reducing brake pedal use. The Hybrid Hierarchical Predictive Control System enhances fuel efficiency by predicting routes and road conditions, then managing battery charge accordingly. The Stay Mode allows use of in-car functions with the engine off for a set period.
Two new safety features debut on the eighth-gen Elantra. Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control 2 automatically slows the car in speed-limited areas, at speed breakers, and intersections. Pedal Misuse Safety Assist applies brakes if the driver mistakenly presses the accelerator instead of the brake.
