Kia India got a decent start in 2025, thanks to its new subcompact SUV, the Syros. As it has launched at a very competitive price of ₹8.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Syros contributed 5,546 units in January alone – even though it launched on the same day the sales report dropped. The model is set to battle rivals like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, and Hyundai Venue.
- Total Sales (Jan 2025): 25,025 units
- YoY Growth: Up 5% vs. Jan 2024 (23,769 units)
- MoM Surge: Skyrocketed 179% from December 2024’s sluggish 8,957 units (holiday season slump).
Top Performers
Sonet | 7,194 units |
Seltos | 6,470 units |
Syros | 5,546 units (debut month!) |
Carens | 5,522 units |
Carnival | 293 units |
Without the Syros, Kia still moved 19,479 units domestically. The brand has exported 1,454 units to 70 countries, cementing India as a key global hub for the brand.
What’s Next?
Hardeep Singh Brar, Kia India’s Sales Chief, called January a “momentum-setter,” crediting the Syros’ hot start and the Carnival Limousine’s growing niche appeal. He emphasized Kia’s focus on blending sharp design with tech to stay ahead of customer demands. With Syros now available for sale it can give further boost to the brand in 2025.
