KR Group, a major Indian fleet operator, has reported a sharp drop in risky driving incidents after deploying Netradyne's Driver•i® platform. Over a six-month period, the company saw a 64% fall in driver distraction events, a 100% speeding correction rate, and a more than 90% reduction in mobile phone use across its hazardous goods and passenger transport divisions.

Key Highlights

  • KR Group saw a 64 percent drop in driver distraction events after deploying Netradyne Driver-i.
  • Mobile phone use incidents fell by over 90 percent within six months across all KR Group fleets.
  • KR Gases achieved a 100 percent speeding correction rate using real-time driver monitoring technology.
  • Drowsiness alerts dropped by 65 percent on KRT carriers' passenger routes after platform implementation.

Significant Reductions in Risky Behaviours

The data, released by Netradyne, covers three KR Group subsidiaries: KR Trans Fuels, KR Gases, and KRT Carriers. Mobile phone use incidents dropped from an average of 20 to 30 per day to just one or two. Drowsiness alerts also fell by 65% compared to peak levels. The Driver•i® platform uses artificial intelligence to monitor and coach drivers in real time.

It tracks behaviors such as speeding, following distance, distraction, and drowsiness. The system provides immediate in-cab audio alerts and supplies fleet managers with ongoing performance data for coaching and accountability.

Technology and Implementation

Before adopting Driver•i®, KR Group relied on GPS tracking, no-phone policies, and regulated rest cycles to manage safety. Company leaders decided to implement real-time driver monitoring to gain better insight into on-road behavior. This was especially important for fleets carrying hazardous materials, where incidents can have serious consequences.

KR Gases, which operates high-risk vehicles transporting hazardous goods, achieved a 100% speeding correction rate and took corrective action in 96% of unsafe following-distance alerts. KRT Carriers, which handles urban and semi-urban passenger routes, recorded a 65% drop in drowsiness alerts. The GreenZone® scoring system, part of the Driver•i® platform, reviews driver performance monthly. It links scores to driver recognition and financial incentives, contributing to a double-digit improvement in overall driver performance across KR Group.

Industry Context and Company Background

Netradyne, founded in 2015 and based in San Diego, has analyzed more than 30 billion miles of driving data. The company operates in North America, Europe, and Asia, with offices in the United Kingdom, Germany, and India. The adoption of AI-powered driver monitoring systems is increasing in the fleet industry, as companies seek to improve safety and reduce risk. KR Group's experience demonstrates the potential for technology to deliver measurable safety improvements in both hazardous goods and passenger transport sectors.
