New-Gen Bentley Flying Spur: New Hybrid Powertrain Teased for August Debut

 

Bentley has released the first official teaser for the new-gen Flying Spur, slated for an August debut. The 2025 Flying Spur's preview hints at an evolutionary design, showcasing refined headlamps and styling cues shared with the Continental GT. However, the most significant update for the Bentley new-gen Flying Spur is the introduction of an advanced hybrid powertrain, replacing the W12 engine and promising improved performance and efficiency for Bentley's flagship four-door model.

The Bentley new-gen Flying Spur will feature an Ultra Performance Hybrid engine, similar to the one in the latest Continental GT. This sophisticated powertrain combines a 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine with an electric motor, producing an impressive 771 bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque. These figures represent a substantial increase of 147 bhp and 100 Nm over the current model. The hybrid system also offers an electric-only range of 72 km, ideal for short urban journeys.

Bentley claims the new-gen Flying Spur will achieve the following:

• A total driving range exceeding 800 km
• Emissions as low as 40 gm per kg

These advancements position the new-gen Flying Spur as a true grand tourer, combining long-distance capability with reduced environmental impact. While sharing many features with the Continental GT, the Flying Spur is expected to receive unique touches to enhance its luxurious appeal.

The new-gen Bentley Flying Spur will compete directly with the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-Class in the ultra-luxury sedan segment. More details are anticipated in the coming weeks as the August debut approaches.
