Rolls-Royce Project Nightingale unveiled: The brand’s first all-Electric coachbuild collection
Rolls-Royce has unveiled Project Nightingale, its first all-electric coachbuild collection that redefines the future of bespoke luxury mobility. Crafted for exclusivity, each creation embodies Rolls-Royce’s hallmark elegance.

Rolls-Royce has introduced Project Nightingale, its first all-electric Coachbuild Collection. The model is named after 'La Rosseignol,' the designers’ house at Henry Royce’s French Riviera estate. The carmaker states that Project Nightingale represents its most ambitious work to date, drawing inspiration from the experiential EX Rolls-Royce models of the 1920s.
Key Highlights
- Rolls-Royce unveils Project Nightingale as its first all-electric Coachbuild Collection
- Design features include a one-meter-wide Pantheon grille and 24-inch alloy wheels
- Interior inspired by the French Riviera with unique Starlight Breeze ambient lighting
- Production limited to 100 units with invite-only availability
- Testing begins June 2026 with deliveries from 2028
Exterior and Design Features

Project Nightingale features a ‘sheer monolithic aesthetic’ based on the 'Streamline Moderne' design language. The front end has a blanked-off appearance with slim vertical LED headlamps, differing from the horizontal lights seen on other Rolls-Royce vehicles. The Pantheon grille, measuring one meter wide, is carved from a solid aluminum block and includes 24 vertical slats. The lower front bumper features a carbon fibre apron outlined by chrome.
The side profile displays smooth, curvy surfaces. The stainless steel frame for the quarter window takes inspiration from the Phantom Drophead Coupe. A single ‘hull’ line extends from the front to the rear, and the door sills have a carbon fibre finish. Project Nightingale rides on 24-inch alloy wheels, the largest ever fitted to a Rolls-Royce, with a design inspired by yacht propellers.
The roof uses sound-deadening materials, including cashmere, fabric, and high-performance composites. Rolls-Royce says its acoustic engineers have ensured a quiet cabin, whether the roof is open or closed. At the rear, a sideways opening boot lid mimics a grand piano. A single brake light sits at the centre of the boot lid, and the chrome number plate surround is set into the bumper with watch-like precision. The rear also features two slim vertical tail lamps and a carbon fibre diffuser for high-speed stability. Two chrome-finished fins run along both sides of the car.
Interior and Technical Details

The interior draws inspiration from the French Riviera. Seats are finished in blue and white, with navy blue inserts and pink contrast stitching. The dashboard features open-pore black wood trim in a V-shape. The three-spoke steering wheel and centre console have physical buttons. The split centre armrest aligns with the Coachline running from the bonnet to the brake light. When the door opens, the motorised centre armrest moves back to reveal a Spirit of Ecstasy rotary controller and further back to reveal a storage compartment. There is also a hidden shelf behind the seats.
Ambient lighting, called the Starlight Breeze suite, is inspired by nightingale sound-wave patterns. It contains 10,500 individual stars in three sizes. Rolls-Royce is developing new materials and a unique color palette for Project Nightingale, along with bespoke features not found on other models.
Project Nightingale will be available only with an all-electric powertrain. Specific power and battery details are not yet confirmed. For comparison, the Spectre, Rolls-Royce’s current EV, uses a 10.2 kWh battery and a dual-motor setup producing 584 HP of power and 900 Nm in standard form and 659 HP and 1075 Nm in the Black Badge version.
Production and Availability
Production of Project Nightingale will be limited to 100 units worldwide. The model will be available by invitation only to select customers with a strong connection to Rolls-Royce design. Testing will begin in June 2026, with deliveries starting from 2028.
