Skoda Auto India has announced that it will offer several upgrades and special editions on the Kushaq and Slavia this year, and one of them could be a new colour option for the models. A leaked image shows the Skoda Kushaq parked outside a dealership in the Lava Blue paint scheme, which was previously available on the Octavia before it was discontinued.
The Skoda Slavia is the brand’s most affordable model with prices starting from Rs. 11.39 lakh onwards, while the Kushaq range starts from Rs. 11.59 lakh onwards. All prices are ex-showroom, India.
The colour is also part of Skoda’s premium range, including the Kodiaq and Superb. The Lava Blue shade looks premium and complements the design of both the Kushaq and Slavia.
For those who wanted to buy the Octavia in this colour but couldn’t, the Slavia could be a good alternative. The car seems to have reached the dealership, so we can expect an official announcement soon.
The Skoda Kushaq comes in five monotone colours - Honey Orange, Tornado Red, Candy White, Carbon Steel and Brilliant Silver. There are also dual-tone options available. The Skoda Slavia shares the same colour palette but swaps the Honey Orange for the Crystal Blue shade.
It remains to be seen if Skoda India will add the Lava Blue shade to the Slavia as an additional colour option or replace the Crystal Blue paint scheme completely. Both Skoda models are based on the same MQB-AO-IN platform and draw power from 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engines.
The engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual, a torque converter or a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The Kushaq and Slavia are among the safest cars made in India and have earned a five-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test results.
Skoda has not made an official announcement yet, so it is unclear if Skoda will offer any feature or cosmetic upgrades along with the new colour option. The prices are also unknown at this point.
