Key Highlights

  • Statiq introduces portable EV charger at Rs 14,999 for home and on-the-go charging
  • The charger offers 3.3 kW AC output with adjustable current settings between 6A and 16A
  • Device features residual current protection and weather resistance for indoor and outdoor use
  • Only 55 percent of Indian EV owners have access to home charging, according to company estimates
  • Statiq marks 35 years in Uttar Pradesh and increases the women's workforce to over 1,300 employees

Key Features of the Portable Charger

The charger delivers a 3.3 kW AC output and connects to standard 16A three-pin sockets. This allows users to charge their vehicles without needing a dedicated charging installation. The device supports adjustable current settings from 6A to 16A, making it compatible with different household electrical capacities.

Statiq's portable charger includes safety features such as residual current protection and weather-resistant construction. These features make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The charger also has a display that shows real-time charging data and a timer function to help users charge during off-peak hours.

Market Context and Availability

Statiq will sell the charger through its online channels and e-commerce platforms. The launch addresses a significant challenge in India, where only about 55% of EV owners have access to home charging, according to company estimates. This gap is especially notable in urban areas where dedicated charging points are limited.

Industry analysts observe that portable charging solutions are becoming more popular in regions where fixed charging infrastructure is still developing. Such devices can serve as both primary and backup charging options, especially for users without private charging stations.

Company Initiatives and Workforce

Statiq's launch coincides with the introduction of its flagship zero-emission electric bus, marking 35 years of operations at its Uttar Pradesh facility. The company supports EV adoption by offering free charging, buyback assurance, and extended warranties to reduce ownership concerns. Statiq has also increased its workforce diversity, hiring over 190 women on the shop floor in the past year. The company now employs more than 1,300 women across all functions.

Statiq’s portable charger could be a timely solution for EV owners who want more flexibility without the hassle of installing dedicated charging hardware. By combining portability, safety features, and an introductory price of Rs 14,999, the company is clearly targeting everyday charging convenience. As EV adoption grows in India, products like this may play an important role in making home charging more accessible and practical.
