Key Highlights

  • Triumph to launch new 350 cc range in India on 6 April
  • New models include Speed, Scrambler, and Thruxton with downsized 349cc engine
  • Estimated output is close to 35 HP and 32-33 Nm torque
  • Lowering the GST to 18 percent could reduce prices by up to Rs 20000

Engine and Performance Details

The new 350 cc range will feature an engine with a reduced bore, while the stroke remains unchanged. This adjustment brings the engine displacement to around 349 cc. The less over-square engine design is likely to improve low-end and mid-range torque delivery. Although Triumph has not released official power figures, estimates suggest the 349 cc engine could produce close to 35 HP and about 32-33 Nm of peak torque.

The new Triumph 350 models are expected to retain the styling and hardware from the current 400 cc range. There is anticipation that Triumph might update the equipment list, as the existing models lack features such as a TFT dash, ride modes, and a quick-shifter. These features are now common in this segment. However, sources indicate that significant updates to the features list are unlikely.

The new 350 cc range will benefit from a lower Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate of 18 percent. This tax reduction should make the motorcycles more affordable. Dealer sources report that prices could decrease by Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000, depending on the model.

Upcoming Reviews and Availability

Triumph plans to begin testing the new 350 cc motorcycles in early April. Detailed reviews will follow after the launch. The company aims to attract buyers seeking more affordable options in the mid-capacity motorcycle segment.

As anticipation builds, all eyes remain on Triumph to see how it reshapes the 350 cc segment.
