VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, is preparing to enter the Indian market in 2025. The company will debut its EV lineup at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show in January. Alongside this, VinFast is reportedly in talks with Adani Group and Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd. (MEIL) for a potential joint venture (JV).
Partnership Discussions with Adani Group and MEIL
According to reports, VinFast is looking into a joint venture in order to earn money and build a network of affordable component suppliers. Working together with well-known regional companies like Adani and MEIL would offer:
- Assistance in navigating India's regulatory framework.
- Local expertise to streamline labor relations.
- Developing an affordable supply chain for EV components.
While discussions are ongoing, no agreements have been finalized. Neither Adani Group nor MEIL has officially confirmed involvement in this EV JV.

VinFast plans to invest $500 million to set up a manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. This factory will cater to both the Indian and global markets, reflecting the company's ambitious expansion plans.
Upcoming VinFast EVs in India
VinFast is expected to launch its first EV in India, likely the VF e34, by 2025. Other models like the VF6 and VF7 are also anticipated.
VF e34 Key Specifications
