Dimensions and Exterior Features
The Wuling Starlight 560 measures 4.75 meters in length, 1.85 meters in width, and 1.75 meters in height. Its wheelbase stands at 2.81 meters. The SUV features a full-LED lighting setup, roof rails, and a skid plate. It rides on 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with 215/55 section tyres. The rear design includes a split tail lamp setup and a rear skid plate.
Interior and Technology
Inside, the Starlight 560 offers a two-spoke steering wheel and a 3.5-inch instrument cluster. The centerpiece is a 12.8-inch infotainment screen with wireless connectivity. Leatherette upholstery adds to the premium feel. These features aim to provide comfort and convenience for occupants.
Powertrain Options and Specifications
The Starlight 560 will offer several powertrain choices. The first is a 1.5-liter Miller cycle turbo engine producing 174.2 bhp. This engine comes with a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT, delivering 260 Nm and 290 Nm of torque, respectively. The second option combines a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle naturally aspirated engine with a plug-in hybrid system, generating 194.3 bhp and 230 Nm. This hybrid uses a 20.5 kWh Shenlian LFP battery pack. The third variant is a fully electric version with a 134 bhp motor and 200 Nm torque, powered by a 56.7 kWh battery pack. This electric setup matches the MG Windsor EV. All versions are front-wheel drive. Of the four configurations, only the CVT variant includes a spare wheel.
Market Position and Pricing
The Starlight 560 was recently seen near MG’s plant in Halol, Gujarat. The electric variant is the most expensive, priced at RMB 98,800 in China, which is about Rs. 13.52 lakh. In India, the SUV is expected to cost up to Rs. 19 lakh for the top model. The launch will add a new contender to the mid-size SUV segment.
