Bird is an American company that provides micro-electric mobility solutions, such as electric bikes and scooters, for cities. Bird operates in over 300 cities across the world, offering shared and personal vehicles for rent or purchase.

History Bird was founded in 2017 by Travis VanderZanden, a former executive of Uber and Lyft. The company started as a dockless electric scooter sharing service, allowing users to locate and unlock scooters using a mobile app. The company expanded rapidly, raising over $600 million in funding and becoming one of the fastest startups to reach a valuation of $1 billion. Availability: Bird scooters are not yet available in India, but the company has plans to enter the Indian market soon. The company has partnered with Revolt Motors, an electric bike maker, to launch its scooters in India in 2023. The company may also set up its own manufacturing facility in India to cater to the local demand.
