Honda is extending its line-up in India with CNG options for the Amaze, City, and Elevate models. These aftermarket kits are compatible with manual and CVT transmissions and range in price from Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 85,000. Additionally, Honda is launching a

Key Highlights:

  • Honda offers CNG for Amaze, City (excluding Hybrid), and Elevate.
  • CNG kits provided as dealer-installed accessories for manual and CVT.
  • Kits priced between Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 85,000 with a one-year warranty.

Honda is introducing CNG options for its three popular models: Amaze, City (excluding the City Hybrid), and Elevate. It is somewhat different from the usual Honda image because the company has never offered CNG kits officially. Unlike other car manufacturers who provide KCVT as a factory-fitted option, Honda offers these as an aftermarket accessory from dealers. The new CNG kits have been developed for both manual and CVT transmissions, making Honda the second manufacturer in the country, after Tata, to offer auto-gas with a CVT.

The kit and installation price is from Rs. 75000 to Rs. 85000 On-Road and comes with a one-year dealer warranty. Lovato CNG aftermarket equipment is known to be reliable, and this equipment comes with a 60-liter tank placed in the trunk that shrinks the boot space a bit. This introduction of CNG options is a perfect strategy for Honda to expand its market base and aim at clients who are considerate of the environment.

Besides CNG, Honda Cars India is expanding its range by introducing at least one model in the next year, targeting the higher segment. It consists of the third-generation Honda Amaze, scheduled to be out during the festive season. Eyeing the new Amaze, Honda plans to provide a new and improved interior design and still keep utilizing the 1. 1797 cc, single overhead camshaft, petrol only because Honda has stopped making diesel engines for India for good. Such a platform will seemingly simplify Honda’s line-up and allow it to potentially reduce expenses in the future.
