Honda Accord Hybrid Highlights
The ninth-generation Honda Accord Hybrid was launched in India during the latter half of 2016. The sophisticated D-segment sedan made its entry to the country through the CBU (completely built unit) route and thus features a considerably higher price tag than its competitors. However, the elegant design, efficient powertrain and top-of-the features do justice to the hefty pricing. The sharply creased external appearance detailed LED headlights and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels offers a premium feel to the car. The cabin also appears upscale with dual-tone beige-black upholstery, well-cushioned sofa-like seats, and oodles of leg and headroom. Even six-footers can enjoy a luxury ride inside the Accord cabin. A 7.7-inch multi-information display (i-MID) with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity takes care of the infotainment of the sedan.
Under the hood of Accord Hybrid, you find two separate sources of propulsion. There is a 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated motor working side-by-side with a 130kW/h lithium-ion battery pack. Together they deliver 215bhp and 315Nm of torque, and Honda has termed this unique Hybrid combination as Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD). You can even ride the car on pure electric mode at a low pace while maneuvering through traffic congestion. Accord also remains equipped with excellent sound insulation, so you can barely hear any road or engine noise at low speed. The manufacturer has taken care of the safety of riders by implementing front and side curtain airbags, ABS with brake assist, stability control, and multi-angle cameras. Finally, we can say, Accord is an excellent hybrid premium sedan below Rs 50 lakh.
