Tata Motors now dominates the Indian EV market. The Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Nexon EV Prime, and Nexon EV Max are the four models in the company's electric vehicle portfolio. While we have already analyzed the Tiago EV on paper ahead of its January arrival, in this article we will look at the Tigor EV variant selection to see which provides the greatest value.

| Powertrain | PMS electric motor, paired with a 26 kWh li-ion battery pack ||--------------------------------- |--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- || Max Power | 75 PS || Max Torque | 170 Nm || Transmission | Single-speed automatic || ARAI Claimed Range | 306 km/charge (real-world range could be different) || Per KM Running Cost* | Rs 1.57 || Average 50km Daily Running Cost | Rs 79 || 0-60kmph | 5.7 seconds || 0-80% Charging Time | 65 minutes via 25 kW DC charger8 hours 45 minutes via 15A plug point portable charger || Top Speed | 120 kmph |
Note: Please keep in mind that the above-mentioned operating costs will apply if you rely heavily on public charging stations. Using a home charger, on the other hand, will significantly lower overall operating costs.
The Tigor EV is powered by a 75PS PMS motor that produces power steadily. It also comes with two driving modes: Drive and Sport. The standard Drive Mode is ideal for daily travel, whilst Sport Mode provides an initial boost in acceleration, allowing it to sprint from 0-60kmph in 6.3 seconds. However, don't anticipate anything amazing.
The Tata Tigor EV should have a range of about 200 kilometres per charge when driven slowly and docilely. When diving hard, however, the range drops substantially, and you can only get 150-170km from the Tigor EV in this case.
The Tata Tigor EV measures 3993mm long, 1677mm wide, 1532mm height, and has a 2450mm wheelbase. It offers a boot area of 316 litres to accommodate your trip demands. In addition, the Tigor EV is 7mm higher off the ground, at 172mm, to accommodate its under-body battery pack.
| Ex-Showroom Delhi | Rs 12.49 lakh ||------------------- |--------------- |
Key Features
| Exterior | Body-colored bumper, blue accents, halogen headlamps, LED tail lamps, and 14-inch steel wheels. ||----------------------- |------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- || Interior | Double-tone light grey & black interiors, digital instrument cluster, fabric seats, blue accents around AC vents, flat-bottom steering wheel. || Comfort & Convenience | Automatic climate control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, front power windows, tilt adjustable power steering wheel, 12V front accessory socket. || Safety | Dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, door ajar warning, key-in warning, child safety rear door locks, speed alert system, driver & co-driver set belt reminder, seat belt pretensioners + load limiters & crash-locking tongue. |
Our Suggestion: Although it is a base model, it includes useful equipment such as an automated air conditioning system and a height-adjustable driver seat. Unfortunately, it lacks essential conveniences like rear power windows and a sound system. If you have the extra cash, we recommend opting with the XM trim.
| Ex-Showroom Delhi | Rs 12.99 lakh ||-------------------------- |--------------- || Price Difference From XE | Rs 50,000 |
Key Features (over XE): –
| Exterior | Full wheel covers. ||----------------------- |------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- || Interior | Theatre dimming effect for cabin lamp. || Comfort & Convenience | All four power windows, a USB charging port at the front and a flip key. || Infotainment | Four speakers and a 2-din Harman audio system with Bluetooth/FM/USB & I-pod connectivity. || Safety | Speed-sensing auto door locks and reverse park assist (sensors with display). |
Our Suggestion: The price is a little expensive given the quantity of extra amenities, but you'll appreciate the overall ownership experience.
| Ex-Showroom Delhi | Rs 13.49 lakh +15,000 extra for piano-black roof ||-------------------------- |---------------------------------------------------- || Price Difference From XM | Rs 50,000 |
Key Features (over XM): –
| Exterior | Dual-tone paint option, projector headlamps with follow-me-home function, LED DRLs, front fog lamps, turn indicators on side mirrors, hyperstyle wheels, chrome-finished window line. ||----------------------- |------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- || Interior | Premium knitted roof liner. || Comfort & Convenience | Smart keyless entry with push-button start, power-adjustable wing mirror with auto-fold function, foldable rear armrest with cup holders, 12V rear power socket, one touch-down driver’s side window, rear defogger, cooled glovebox, electric tailgate release, and steering mounted controls. || Infotainment | 7-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with iRA-connected car technology, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, four tweeters, incoming SMS notifications & read-outs, and call reject with SMS feature. || Safety | Reversing camera with adaptive guidelines. |
Our Suggestion: Because of its increased features, the Tata Tigor EV XZ+ variation delivers better value for money than the XM trim. However, it would have been preferable if the car had had amenities such as a front armrest, adjustable headrests for back seats, and, most crucially, cruise control, which would have allowed for a greater highway range.
Important Update: The new Tiago EV is likely to have technologies such as multi-level regenerative braking, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and cruise control in the Tata Tigor EV.
