Hyundai has consistently employed smart strategies to secure a significant market share in this fiercely competitive category. In a bid to further enhance its sales and market presence, Hyundai has launched the Venue S Plus variant.
Hyundai Venue S Plus Variant Launched
Hyundai Venue has been one of the leading players in the sub-4-meter SUV space since its introduction. The model's sales performance is consistently strong, with nearly 9,000 units sold in July 2024, capturing an 8.65% market share in the segment.
To continue this momentum, Hyundai has introduced the Venue S Plus variant. The standout feature of this new variant is its electrically operated single-pane sunroof, making it the most affordable sunroof-equipped variant in the Venue lineup. Priced at Rs 9,35,800 (ex-showroom), the S Plus aims to attract more buyers by offering this popular feature at a competitive price point.
Powertrain and Positioning
The Hyundai Venue, a popular contender in the sub-4-meter SUV segment, competes with rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Mahindra 3XO, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
The Venue S Plus trim is offered with a single engine and gearbox combination—the reliable 1.2L 4-cylinder Kappa naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. While this is the only powertrain option currently available, Hyundai may consider introducing additional combinations based on customer demand.
In the Venue's variant hierarchy, the S Plus is positioned above the Venue S and below the Venue S (O). It's worth noting that Hyundai launched the S (O) Plus variant earlier this month at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom), which previously held the title of the most affordable sunroof variant in the lineup. With the introduction of the S Plus, Hyundai has lowered the entry price for sunroof-equipped models to Rs 9.36 lakh (ex-showroom).
Features and Offerings
The Hyundai Venue S Plus comes with a host of features that make it a compelling choice in its segment. In addition to the electric sunroof, the variant is equipped with a digital instrument cluster featuring a TFT multi-information display (MID), an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, among other conveniences.
Conclusion
With the launch of the Venue S Plus variant, Hyundai continues to innovate and cater to the demands of Indian consumers. The inclusion of a sunroof at a lower price point is likely to drive sales and solidify the Venue's position as a top contender in the sub-4-meter SUV segment.
