The Avenger Street 220 is the complete blacked-out, custom cruiser version of the Avenger Cruise. This cruiser version of Bajaj Auto has been updated as a flagship motorcycle by Bajaj Auto in order to comply with the latest emission norms. The BS6 upgrade on the Avenger Cruise 220 is limited to technical modifications only. The bike is retailed at starting price tag of Rs. 1,28,375 in India. Offered in one variant and two-colour options, the bike is powered by 220cc BS6 engine which generates a power of 18.4 bhp and a torque of 17.55 Nm. With no change in visual appeal, the Avenger cruise 220 BS6 continues to feature a typical cruiser motorcycle design with low-slung saddle, rear-swept handlebar, a windscreen at the front and a long wheelbase. The 3D logo, chrome treatment to various parts and wire-spoke wheel adds a premium touch to the overall package. Anti-lock braking system as a standard, the body of the Bajaj Avenger Street 220 weighs 163 kgs with fuel tank capacity of 13 litres. The hardware of the BS6 model remains similar to BS4 motorcycle. The telescopic forks with double anti-friction bush at the front and five-step adjustable twin springs at the rear manage the shock absorption duties. Anchoring power comes from a 280mm disc and 130mm drum brake at the front and rear, respectively. Single-channel ABS is the safety feature added to the motorcycle. Some of the technical changes includes a fuel-injection motor which is a single-cylinder, oil-cooled, twin-spark, SOHC motor that is linked to a five-speed gearbox for transmission purpose. The nearest rival to the Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 is the Suzuki Intruder. The Avenger Cruise 220 BS6 packs better performance numbers while retailing at a relatively lower price tag than its competition.
