Skoda is ready to pull the wraps off the upcoming Slavia next month. The Czech Republic automaker Skoda's best-selling sedan, the Slavia, is ready to make its official facelift debut on August 18, 2026. The update promises bolder styling, a richer feature list and a crucial automatic gearbox upgrade, aiming to keep the Slavia aspirational yet attainable for Indian families across busy urban India.

While Skoda hasn’t revealed the car in full yet, multiple spy shots and media reports already paint a clear picture of what to expect. Expect sharper design cues, tech borrowed from the updated Kushaq, and a more relaxed driving experience thanks to the new eight-speed automatic gearbox.

What to Expect?

The 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift sticks to its balanced three-box proportions but turns up the visual drama at both ends. Up front, a reworked grille with a flatter, cleaner look is flanked by sleeker LED headlamps and a sportier bumper with a wider lower air dam and sharper detailing for a more assertive stance.

Talking about its design, we can expect connected LED daytime running lamps and turn indicators that double as dynamic, sweeping signals, a cue inspired by Audi’s premium sedans and already seen in recent Skoda updates. At the rear, connected LED taillamps with illuminated SKODA lettering and a tidier, wider-looking bumper help the car appear more planted and upscale. We can also expect an all-new set of alloy wheel designs, likely in 16- or 17-inch diamond-cut finishes depending on variant.

Expected Interiors and Comfort

Inside, the Skoda Slavia is expected to feel notably more premium without losing its familiar, user-friendly layout. Higher variants are slated to receive a new 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. An updated 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected features, wireless smartphone integration and an on-board assistant should further modernise the cabin experience.

Engine and Performance

Under the hood, the formula stays familiar. For the 2026 season, the Skoda Slavia facelift will continue with Skoda’s 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engines, both E20 fuel-compatible. The 1.0-litre unit produces around 115 PS and 178 Nm, while the 1.5-litre TSI delivers 150 PS and 250 Nm, keeping the Slavia among the most powerful choices in its class.

The biggest update is the gearbox. The 1.0 TSI is expected to swap its current 6-speed torque-converter automatic for a new 8-speed unit, a change already rolled out on the Kushaq facelift and aimed at smoother performance and better efficiency.
