WP APEX PRO Suspension Now Available for KTM 1390 Super Duke RR and R

WP Suspension has announced that its latest APEX PRO platform will be available as an aftermarket option for the KTM 1390 Super Duke RR and KTM 1390 Super Duke R. Previously, this advanced suspension system was exclusive to the 2026 KTM 1390 Super Duke RR Track, a limited-run, track-only model. Now, owners of the road-going versions can access the same focused suspension setup without upgrading to the track-specific bike.

Key Features of APEX PRO Suspension

The new WP APEX PRO fork uses a Closed Cartridge design, similar to the brand’s race equipment. This setup aims to improve rider feedback during intense use, allowing for later braking and increased cornering stability. On high-performance motorcycles like the 1390 Super Duke R and RR, suspension weaknesses can become apparent at high speeds. The advanced cartridge system helps riders use more of the bike’s potential by providing better control and feedback.

WP has introduced a Tecterra inner tube coating in the fork. This surface treatment is about twice as hard as standard chrome coatings. It increases resistance to dust, sand, and other abrasive materials. The harder coating also helps maintain damping consistency and wear resistance, especially during repeated hard track sessions.

Rear Shock and Adjustment Options

The APEX PRO rear shock has been developed to improve drive out of corners and enhance rear-end stability under braking. It includes a mount for a potentiometer, which allows for telemetry-based suspension tuning. This feature can help riders fine-tune their setup based on real-time data from the bike.

The system offers high- and low-speed compression damping, rebound adjustment, hydraulic spring preload, and length adjustment. Riders can also choose from different spring rates and make quick spring changes. This wide range of adjustments allows owners to tailor their 1390 Super Duke RR or R for a more track-oriented feel.
